Reform Yugoslavia. Seriously. The EU doesn't need all these crazy little countries kicking about.

Well, we can let them in if they remove their claims on what is *clearly* Slovenian territory.
Slovenia has a territory? I always think of it more as of a theoretical concept, a state of mind perhaps

With regards to EU, I couldn't care less for most aspects of it except for the customs which I hate and removal of which I consider a good thing. It annoys me that when I buy something from say, Germany, I have to pay customs. I paid $100 in customs for something I purchased lately. At that point I was ready to sign up for membership of the Soviet Union if it meant no borders in Europe

Impossible. The big difference to a federal state like Germany is that Yugoslavia had about the same ethnic diversity. And people disagree on religious grounds whether they like to be occupied by Austria, Turkey, or Russia. Or was it the other way?
Why doing it the easy way if it is possible to do it complicated?

As opposed to countries like Belgium?

The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.

The northern half is normal. The orthodox has a mixed record and the muslim part? Who knows.

Anyhow, former Yugoslavia is just fine as it is, as long as the major powers keep a eye on it. We all know how well that's worked in the past...

Seriously Slovenia and Croatia can’t really be described as Crazy and neither can you describe Macedonia that way. Three out of six (or is it seven now?) isn’t too bad.
Heck, if the Croats don’t screw up, two out of six will be developed economies (first world countries) in a few years.

To be accurate, the geographical divide between the Catholic and Orthodox regions, dates back to the Western and Eastern Roman empire. The Turks are responsible for the Muslim population though.

Ex-Yugoslavia will in time become an uninteresting place. This will sound harsh, but it is in large part because all political entities there are by now ethnically homogenous.

Bosnia won't be much of a problem anymore, count on that. By that I mean there won't be violence. There will be all sorts of political trouble.

Kosovo won't be a problem in the sense of making war with Serbia, but due to its high population growth and some other factors it will remain an unstable place and a headache for a number of European countries, not just its neighbours.

Macedonia could blow up one day and if it does it won't be pretty. For now the government seems to handling it pretty well.
