I don't understand that map, you need to post the color key. Is it saying that the US has more starving people than Mexico and that South Korea has about the same proportion as Russia and China? It almost looks like the color coding is by region with shades of red for Africa, shades of blue for Europe and North America, blue-greens for South America, yellows for South Asia oranges for West Africa, greens for North Asia and yellow-greens for the Middle East. It would have made more sense if they had used size to represent the total number and color code to represent the percentage. Is this a UN map?

The color coding means nothing, the area of the country is proportional to number of starving people, hence the distortion.
