Recently, I've been getting very much into science fiction. Most especially, I've been reading pretty much everything by Ben Bova. I also really liked Charles Sheffield's "Cold as Ice"/"Dark as Day" series.
For less "hard", but more "fun", sci-fi, I enjoyed David Weber's series - "Crusade", "In Death Ground", "The Shiva Option", and "Insurrection".
What sci-fi do you enjoy, and what would you recommend?
Note: I'm not a huge fan of Orson Scott Card, or very much of Isaac Asimov or Arthur C. Clark. I prefer the genres of sci fi that deal with the exploration of the solar system, and don't deal with aliens, or the David Weber-type stuff that deals with major wars spanning star systems (just no Star Wars/Star Trek garbage).
