PS- Here is something I think most of you guys would like to know: While not an unwriten policy in my department, I know of SEVERAL departments that tell their officers NOT to pull someone over unless it is 13 mph or more over. I use this as a general guideline.

In Calgary, the courts had to tell the cops not to pull people over unless they were 13 kph or more over the limit. The cops were overwhelming the courts system. At one point you could delay/get out of paying your ticket for over 3 years.

I followed a cop at 120 kph in a 100 kph zone for about 15 minutes today.
