  • Does anyone know what parable this is?

I remember some story, I think from the bible. A man is told to sit outside the gates of the city and to express gratitude to and even give money to anyone who insults him. Anyone know what it is?

I'm pretty sure that's not one of Christ's parables.

              Maybe Aesop's Fables?

If it is a parable, it's not a biblical one. Jesus had no such parable. But it sounds like something God could have asked one of the prophets to do.

Do you remember a similar story? I read it when I must have been quite a little kid. Details are utterly hazy.

                          LINK

According to Google, it's a tale from the Arabian Nights. It's supposedly somewhere in the above story (which is 28 single-space-pages long).
