              If nobody had messed with fractals the groundwork in mathematics required for computers almost certainly would still have been there.

              The geomancy contribution was very marginal.

                The main talk is ok.
                The conclusion is mostly wrong (as it the title of this thread).

                Boole didn't really need this particular code to define Boolean Algebra. Heck the whole point of Boolean Algebras is that they do not nec. involve numbers and are in a way much more general than addition modulo 2 (which was discovered independently many times everywhere over the world in any case).

                  The main talk is interesting, but weird in the sense that this guy is taking this interesting mathematical phenomena (fractals) and basically trying to fit the world into it, by force if needed. It shows.

                  The conclusion is off the charts on the crazy scale. African fractals can lead to better capitalism? WTF?
