    UK Police: Taser has "no severe or adverse reactions"

    From Monday, the Metropolitan Police will issue Taser stun guns to previously unarmed officers, becoming the 10th force to join the Home Office pilot.

    ...

    Amnesty International said the weapons have been linked to more than 70 deaths in the US, while the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation has reported that up to 18 people have died in Canada since 2003 after being stunned by a Taser.

    But, according to UK police, there have been "no severe or adverse reactions" since Taser was introduced in 2003.

    Pc Ashton said: "There are no recorded incidents of Taser causing the death of anybody"

          Shouldn't you take this as a sign that UK citizens are just that bad ass compared to citizens of the US and Canada that they can be tazed for fun and not suffer?

            Either way, this should be of little concern to people who, you know, manage to behave themselves when confronted by the police. Such behaviour can't be as rare as it seems some would lead us to believe.

            For the odd ones who don't behave, there's no cause for whining. Now they know the stakes.

            I suppose I ought to get that thing repaired that DinoDoc is always on about. Well, maybe later.
