Large coffee at Timmies = $1.39 (prices vary by region).

well maybe they need to raise their prices then. You never see starbucks with a line out front. Note however, I'm never up in the morning so I have no idea.

Speaking of Starbucks, my daughter and Zach came by today and we went there. Maybe the 2nd time I've bee, both times with her.
At this table are 2 separate people, on their laptop. One of them is also talking on his cell phone.
I thought, "Oh, hell. This is everyting I don't want to be".

Timmies lineups are all day, not just in the morning.

I was in Jacksonville Fl when they banned drive thru liquor stores. I kid you not. They used to sell a mini bottle of liquor, and a cup of ice.

I have a friend who loves drive thrus. He uses a wheel chair, and getting out of and back into his van is an involved, time consuming task.

If we priced gasoline to reflect the negative externalities of its emissions (for those who think the current price is inadequate to reflect that) we could both provide folks with an incentive to park and go in, while allowing folks who NEED a drive through, to use one.

I hate these weekend warrior type enviromentalists. The enviromental problems of our day will be solved large scale technological improvement and political will, not nickle and dine crap like that.

So, you have kept 20 vehicles from lining up at Arby's, that totally makes up for that coal power plant down the road

The energy crisis of the '70s largely was solved by nickle and dime crap, people buying more energy efficient hot water heaters, steady improvements in vehicle MPG, improved home insulation, energy efficiencies at factories, etc, etc.

But that was done in response to price signals. Which have the advantage of incentivizing both big stuff, and nickle and dime crap.

A large coffee at Starbucks is the same price. Dis is obviously referring to the blended drinks. Regular coffee is not priced that high or anything close to it.

That's good. One would have to be insane to pay $5 for a coffee.

It is mainly a Timmies thing. The other fast food places are usually fine.

You don't have one in Erie I take it? They are spreading south (350 stores now) and places within driving distance of the border are first.
