I've seen military health care and fantastic isn't what I'd call it. My civilian insurance is much better. That said French coverage is far better then either including in home service and helpers to come in and do things like laundry or cooking when you're ill or have a child. That's what economies of scale do; you can get a lot more benefits for a lot less money.

The US needs that kind of economies of scale to drive down prices.

I would prefer to keep my more than adequate health insurance, and use the rest of that money that would otherwise be spent on foo foo French style inefficient and ineffective overkill to invest or buy video games as my FREE society allows me.

Or just be stupid not have health insurance at all and instead buy a bigger house and then get stuck with an insurmountably large medical bill when I fall of my ladder painting the walls of my unnecessarily large mansion, as my freedom to accept the consequences of my own choices allows.

I have this annoying habit of funding my retirement while still in my 20's as well. I know I know, my children will be there to pay for me, what a waste!

I see military health care as so bad, I don't think I will stay in once I have a family.

It really depends on where you are. For you, considering what your making at this point, you are getting a five finger discount

I don't have a sob story. I'm simply highlighting that DinoDoc was acting like an ass by claiming everyone was out buying big screen TVs.

As for a discussion with you... You won't answer simple questions, keep raising red herrings, and try to change the subject when ever it touches on a point which doesn't agree with your world view. There's no point in talking to such a person.

JESUS... What is the major malfunction which prevents you from understanding the French pay FAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRR less then we do and they get FFAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRR better service. They pay just over half what we do.

Yeah, but I am also taking a $20k+ paycut by not being in the private sector, in part because there are supposedly good benefits.

Yes I do have a nasty habit of discussing the thread topic.

What was it again? French health care? US health care? No, thats not it. Major corporation pension plans? No...

JESUS... What is the major malfunction which prevents you from understanding the French pay FAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRR less then we do and they get FFAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRR better service. They pay just over half what we do.
                On average Oerdin. AVERAGE.

And why can't you understand that in America, only people using health care pay for health care. I don't need it, so I don't pay for it. Not to mention that if we are willing to pay for it we get the best in the world, as opposed to everyone getting blah.

I realize you are living in San Diego and that is an expensive place, and you might be a little short of funds and would like to spend mine. Too bad.

Yeah, but I am also taking a $20k+ paycut by not being in the private sector, in part because there are supposedly good benefits.
Well, go price out how much a full health screening costs, full dental services twice a year for the length of your enlistment, and right there that is money going straight into your pocket.

I wouldn't knock the healthcare until you have tried it. I have used it all my life and have no complaints.

And if you joined for the pay/benefits tell them you are gay now and get out because you joined for the wrong reason and won't like it anyway.

The US does not get the best health care in the world. Study after study after studay all say the French get the world's best health care.

You guys are way off topic. This has become another boring health care debate.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

The US does not get the best health care in the world.
On average, yes. Did I say otherwise?

In any case this crisis means two things.

1.) In a year I will be able to aford twice as much house as I can right now.

2.) I am in the best position to buy at the bottom of this thing and come out with a profit.

Patience, not overextenting yourself, saving, and having good credit pays off.

That wasn't me. I was claiming that HELOCs and ARMs are for morons. I had no idea what the morons did with thier money. At least get my arguement right before trying to argue against it.

Hilllary's plan was actually quite similar to Bush's except it gave people with bad spending habits money.
