  • Is it possible to live on long play?

So what if we were able to think faster? Sometimes we think so fast we can't even talk, because it's not possible to talk your thoughts with that same rapid speed your mind is going.

But you're kind of occupied with the thoughts, you start using words like "it's sort of..." and slow down with your speaking just because you're trying to get the clear picture so you won't have to backtrack with your actual speaking, to make it clear for the one who is listening. Sometimes you're working a knot, you know where you need to go with the thought but it's a knot so you have to fight around it, try to untie the knot and find a passage that allows the listener to follow and see what you want them to see. Again, your speaking slows down, because if it didn't, you'd be quite fuzzy, say wrong things and so forth so you are using these words as tools to help you buy time and at the same time build a basis for your point.

So I was thinking if it would be possible to condition your thought processes so that you think super fast, but talk normally. Kind of like setting your brains two different speeds, but both on the conscious. I mean we do this already, but it's confusing and fuzzy. How to make this clear? So for example if I was able to do this, I'd write twice as fast, not technically but the content would there twice as fast, because I'd be able to process my thoughts in real time and not have to stop to think about it.

It would be like to have your reality working matrix speed. You would jump from concept to concept very fast, so in a way the reality in time would become slow, except for outsiders, it's still the same speed.

Another way to think about the same situation would be... how would you fool your own brain to percieve everything as fast as possible, yet translate it into real time, so that the reality would become twice as slow.

PEKKA THE GAME IS UP. No one clicks on your threads anymore except if by accident, and even then no one does it, as evidenced by the replies in this thread. You are simply out of control and need to be stopped, and I'm in the process right now of figuring out what would make your posts more readable until you finally shove some sort of stopping mechanism into your gaping ass mouth. I think the best thing would be if you stopped RAMBLING and added topic sentences that clearly tell the poster WHAT YOU PLAN TO SAY even BEFORE YOU SAY IT. Use the topic sentence test -- if the topic sentence SUCKS, the post will SUCK.

Having said that, do you not notice who started the thread? Do you have sporadic blindness? Are you floating in and out of reality?

I thought it would be about the long play speed setting on VCR's.

                Dis, exactly.

WIglaf, if you can't figure out the simple clues, look in the mirror. In short, this is your problem. Dis got it and most people associated with the VCR, which was the mental image I wanted to give because it's a metaphor for what I explained.

                  Could have been vinyl.

True. I first wrote LP but then figured it'd be mixed up. But sure, could be, could be.

And vinyl STILL sounds the best. FACT.

It's not necessarily revealing age but taste
