This sort of happened by accident but I'm interested in seeing how far it goes.
At 9:30 p.m. or so Nov. 21 (Wed) I finished a nice pasta dish and then went to watch a movie. Then to bed.
This morning I woke up and locked myself in my bedroom and spent the whole day doing law school studying. This continued for quite a few hours until I looked up and realized it was 9:30 p.m. Nov. 22 (Thu). This marked 24 hours of not eating anything.
I have had no hunger pangs or feeling of being empty. My concentration has, if anything, been better than usual. I have been drinking water from a pitcher in the room and nothing else. In the bathroom I've only been urinating.
I have noticed my breath has a very different smell to it than usual, which goes away briefly when I brush my teeth but comes back later.
I'm going to go to sleep in a few minutes after I finish this chapter of my law notes. I'll see if I feel hungry tomorrow. Tomorrow I will very likely do another all-day study stint, so it'll mostly be sitting at a desk without much physical movement. I believe that mental thought still burns a not-insubstantial amount of calories.
The outer limit of this fast will depend on my social engagements. On Friday evening I may be going out to dinner with a friend if she's available. On Saturday, I will definitely meet up with other law school students to share notes. On Saturday night I will definitely have dinner with some of these law school students at a certain upscale restaurant with them paying for me. (This was planned before I started fasting.)
So assuming I don't feel hungry, this could go for up to 72 hours before a mealtime commitment.
Needless to say, my weight has not changed at all so far.
