  • All I want for Christmas is...

    And yes, I said Christmas

This would occupy me for, I don't know, 4 years at least...

So what are you guys asking for/expecting/hoping for this year? Or what are you getting for other people?

Yes, this is a shameless attempt by me to get ideas for gifts to buy people.

I'm not really asking for anything. But I'm making my parents a website for Christmas.

I'm emailing my family my Amazon Wishlist so I avoid the problem I had last xmas of returning nearly all my gifts.

Sometimes I wonder if its too impersonal but the material gains outweigh it.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.
                -Richard Dawkins

Why not just ask for £?

Cause I like to have things to open on xmas day. Cash takes up so little space under the tree, its not as visually impressive.

Sounds like my brother, who gave the family an Amazon Wishlist of incredibly specific books about medieval arms and armor. Deviation was not allowed.

My cousin donates money to some charity for everyone, and sends us a card saying so... that is so lame!

I'm going to do it this year. But, I'm keeping the money.
