  • Medical Help Please

My hands and feet (particularly my right foot) have been numb for the past 12 days. Mainly a tingly numbness like it is asleep. But constantly for the past 12 (now almost 13) days.

I can't walk normally and my legs are sore too. I am going crazy over this.

I can't get this checked out by doctors since I don't have medical insurance due to the army saying I am not in the army due to an error.

      County hospital.

Since we're offering wildass guesses, I'll say you had a stroke.

Take the rubberbands off your wrists and ankles.

                  That's definitely it.

Also sounds like it may be a B12 deficiency (in addition to diabetes or poor circulation). Gotta see a doc.

                        Go and see a doctor!

I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

This from Medline Plus, a webside of the National Institutes of Health:

                            There are many possible causes:

Remaining in the same seated or standing position for a long time
Injury to a nerve -- for example, a neck injury may cause you to feel numbness anywhere along your arm or hand, while a low back injury can cause numbness or tingling down the back of your leg
Pressure on the spinal nerves such as that due to a herniated disk
Lack of blood supply to an area -- for example, plaque buildup from atherosclerosis in the legs can cause pain, numbness, and tingling while walking (this is called vascular claudication)
                            Other medical conditions, including:
                            Carpal tunnel syndrome
                            Diabetes
                            Migraines
                            Multiple sclerosis
                            Seizures
                            Stroke
                            Transient ischemic attack (TIA)
                            Underactive thyroid
Abnormal levels of calcium, potassium, or sodium in your body
A lack of vitamin B12 or other vitamin
                            Certain medications
Toxic action on nerves, such as that from lead, alcohol, or tobacco
                            Radiation therapy
