Similar story. I picked up Mario Galaxy yesterday, and the manual is completely in Spanish.

      Game is English, though...

For some reason almost all the games I get come without CD keys. I wonder why that is.

The photo software that came as part of my Windows package when I bought my computer needs a CD key to (a) unlock it or (b) contact the manufacturer to complain that I didn't get a CD key.

EDIT: No, even worse. It was a Christmas present, maybe birthday. I don't remember, but I DO remember it sucked.
You got off lucky. My brother spent about the best part of a week downloading Civ3 off the internet and then installed it to find out it sucked.

All his friends in Beijing laughed at him for that.l

Well, at least when you're playing the game then, whenever you hear Mario's voice he speaks clearly in English.

I guess only Aussies will know this one, but that reminds me of a very funny show, where they had a skit called Bastards Incorporated, where they held meetings presenting ideas for ****ty products (the ones that exist and commonly annoy us), like toothpaste tubes where it is impossible to get the last bit of toothpaste out, pens that purposely spill the ink, etc

Damn, I want to see that show again

Seems the only way to contact Sega customer support was through their e-mail service. So I e-mailed them my problem and question and now I have to wait for them to reply, and to find out if they can even do anything for me.

Has bull**** like this happened to you when buying a new PC game? Who here has bought a Medieval II: Total War game, and where did you find the damn CD key?

EDIT: And yeah, I still have the original receipt should I need it.

                    An the correct answer is:

Take M2TW back to the store and get your money back. It's a POS.

There was a really bad situation with the game "Thief: The Dark Project" a while back with deceptive advertising.

Thief came out with about a dozen levels. Then it came out again, with three additional levels. It was a pretty cool game.

Then the design house folded and the publisher got all the rights to the game, or something. It rushed out a "Limited edition" of Thief.

People bought the edition. And found out it was a demo version!

The only thing "limited" about it was that it featured less than even the original number of levels and was generally crap.

Now that was just plain downright wrong.
