        Somewhere last year my sister travelled to Iran for a month as a tourist. All went well, but I don't think she talked a lot about politics with the natives. Firstly because most of the people there can't make conversation in English and secondly the average Joe on the street there doesn't have a nuanced view on politics anyway. Pretty much like the average Joe in the USA

            More specifically, the people most likely to speak English were also the most likely people to flee in 1979.

                Not yet. I hope I'll go there with an Iranian friend soon though.
