                    In mathematics, a lot of very technical notions are given everyday names (simple, exceptional, compact, regular, group, center, smooth, real, open, dense, normal, ideal, meager, I could go on for days)

                    This lends itself very easily to wordplay and it is somewhat common.

                        Oh, and **** the article in the OP. California owns 2/3rds of Tahoe so why the hell do they say it is in Nevada? They only own a minority share and most of the people on the Nevada side are Californians. This truth, of course, applies to all desirable parts of Nevada; they are California's *****.
