  • Great moments in internet stupidity!

    Tonights canidate?

Atheists in Utah sue the state claiming that crosses honoring fallen Utah Highway Patrol officers are offensive. No response yet from the State as they are still dumbfounded that there are actually atheists in Utah

A response to a news article on fark.com. The article was about some people offended that highway patrolmen who died on duty in Utah had a cross placed on the side of the highway where they died.

A reader of the artcile, responds thus(and is torn a new ###hole by other readers):

Totally stupid; fallen soldiers always get honored by their beliefs.
Religious freedom is why people founded this country.
Our constitution guarantees no laws prohibiting free exercise.
Lots of people seem to miss this point entirely.
Let the Jews have their Stars of David on their memorials.
I think Catholics should be entitled to have their crucifix.
No reason Muslims shouldn't get their hammer and sickle.
Guess what? Atheists can have their symbol on their graves as well:
Yes you read it right folks, muslims have replaced the crecent moon with a HAMMER AND SICKLE, apparently they are all communists now.

This has been a GREAT MOMENT IN INTERNT STUPIDITY-god bless and goodnight!

I see crosses all the time and not for just police.

That is the mildest form of stupidity I have ever witnessed. Just hangout in any Christian IRC channel and you'll soon have your breath taken away.

if a list was ever compiled, i'm sure a few of your posts would be contenders.

That's a more interesting topic than the thread starter proposed imho.

had a cross placed on the side of the highway
The use of the passive voice creates a problem... Who placed the cross.
If it was a church or other organization, then placement of the cross is the free excercise of their religion.
If it was by the government, then it's a violation of the establishment clause.

Fark is normally unintentionally funny just like all the other extremely biased political sites.
