It may just be that we Americans of 'R' rated movie going age realize that our troops are still in the field and we aren't interested in possibly hurting troop morale by seeming to support an anti-war stance by frequenting Hollywood's anti-war movies.

Especially while those troops are laying their lives on the line daily.

I would honestly not be surprised by the anti-Iraq war crowd misrepresenting huge ticket sales of anti-war movies as "proof" that America is totally against the war in Iraq.

Then again, it could just be that those movies suck.

What a concept, huh? Hollywood making some movies that sucked?

    That's just my humble opinion.

Oh, if you guys have already seen all the films in your closest rental place, take Savior next time. It's an anti-war flick, but a pretty damn good at that!

Frankly, none of the supposedly anti-Iraq War movies looked that interesting to me when I watched the previews, so I didn't go to them. I didn't go to them because I'm against the war or for the war — they simply didn't look interesting.

Besides, I work in the news media, and see/read enough about the war on the job to want to avoid it a bit when I'm not at work.

well, I didn't want to start a new thread since this one will do, but the BS sure is getting thick on the "right".

I'm seeing alot of Repubs telling people to protest movies like Redacted, Repubs who wont see the movie themselves. Some of these same people condemned critics of The Passion for not seeing the movie.

              That's pretty funny.

This whole thread concept is crap.

How many of those anti-war movies listed in the first post are enjoying runaway blockbuster success everywhere but America?

              What's that..?

              None..?

Well, then explain to us all again why that translates into Americans don't support anti-war films when; as it turns out; none of those movies are blockbusters in every other country in the world?

I could accept the premise as stated if those movies were enjoying 'Lord of the Rings' or 'Harry Potter' like success's globally except here in America.

But since they are not, it reveals this whole thread's premise is just nonsensical drivel.

Do I have to see a movie to think it sounds like a bad one?
