    UK ID card scheme scrapped?

    The Sunday Mirror is reporting that Gordon Brown is planning to scrap the ID card scheme. According to 'Whitehall sources', at least. Government denials thus far have been unconvincing.

    I hope these reports are accurate. It's a monstrous folly.
