hell, I probably got more radiation exposure than him for reactor plants.

one thing I'm curious though. How could there be that much a delay of the bomb? How long long could it possibly stay in the air? I'm too lazy to figure out the terminal velocity and all that. Anyone know what elevation they dropped the bomb?

I always wondered how the plane wasn't knocked out of the sky from turbulence.

      According to wiki,
was dropped from 9855m and detonated at 600m.
It was just ballistics, no parachute or anything.

9200m in about 50s for an average speed of 184m/s

      Sounds reasonable.

Again, the plane was 17 km away when the bomb exploded, far away that the shockwage wasn't big enough to knock it down.

Your radon exposure is probably way higher

They had a flight pattern after the drop that gave them distance - if I remember right it was something like dropping down and gaining speed - too drunk/tired to find the book with the details.

Brave man, flying a single unescorted bomber deep into enemy territory...
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

They knew the Japanese didn't scramble against small bomber groups due to lack of fuel.

Yes, agreed but you never know when you make assumptions in war. Think back in history how many caused diasters.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

There were 6 other planes with them

Or maybe I misread and you think it'd have been easier if he could have flown several bombers at the same time

RIP Paul Tibbets who really got called upon to do a rather nasty deed.

A routine search on "Paul Tibbets" would have turned up a very large number of references, so, yes, that would qualify for Dead Pool.
