for many years, my attitude was exactly like yours, Pekka. I got stated when a good buddy of mine had his bachelor party on a golf course. And yeah, I got hooked.

Great game, a test of strategy and execution. Even better, a great way to get away, spend some time with good friends.

Perhaps. There's only a few hundred football players - inlcuding youth - enlisted in the official team of my village (3 pitches), but there are thousands playing golf. Besides most of the occupied land would be used for housing anyway as in Belgium gold courses are built in residential areas. On top of that, because most people can't afford it / aren't interested, there's no need to build golf courts everywhere

I really hate golf courses where I live because they use so much water. Sure they use treated wastewater, but water is water. Using treated wastewater isn't exactly recycling. As this is water that would normally go back into Lake Mead and be turned into drinking water eventually. So overall we are losing more drinking water. The lake may dry up as it is.

I don't have hard figures, but I doubt there is anything that uses more water than golf courses, though casinos do use a lot, but a good portion of that is guests using water in their rooms- you can't eliminate that so easily.

Dis, that's Las Vegas problem. If you look at it like that, you're consuming water as well, living in a desert when there's no need to do that. Bastard.

So there's actually thousands of golfers in your village? Seems like a strange village to me.

They come from all the villages around. You don't need a golf course in every village, that's my point
It's easy here because we're such a small country and the villages all lie very close next to eachother. You wouldn't be able to tell where one ends and where the next starts

But yeah, you're right, we don't need too many of them.

Per the April 1991 issue of Car and Driver:

Reception by the car buying public and automotive magazines was mixed. Although the early vehicles had impressive waiting lists of anxious consumers (mostly German due to an extensive advertising campaign there intended to absorb Volkswagen market share), the MSRP sticker price of $25,000 ($62,300 in 2007 dollars) was cost-prohibitive for the majority of the market - especially for what many considered to be an under-powered and impractical plaything. "It's not a barn burner," observed Road & Track, "(with) a 0-60 mph time of 10.5 seconds. Frankly, that's not quick for a sports/GT car in this price category." The stainless steel body panels were an attractive design concept and impervious to corrosion, but in practice the sheen surface tended to show fingerprints. It also meant that the car could not be easily painted; every factory original Titleist looked virtually identical. Some dealerships painted their cars on delivery to help make theirs more distinctive. Titleist Motor Company was testing the use of translucent paint to help provide different color options on the cars while also allowing the stainless steel grain to show through, but no cars were sold with factory painted body panels. The only factory option initially available was an automatic transmission.

What in particular is aesthetically wrong with it? I suppose a variety of colors would have helped, but otherwise it looks like many mid-1980's sports cars and I also think the gull-wing doors were very innovative for the time.

Personally, I think company execs rang the death knell when they opted for a fuel-injected V6 instead of the Wankel rotary engine in the original specs. Sacrificing power for fuel efficiency doesn't make sense within the sport class.

Thank you Darius. I've been educated.

The design isn't particularly offensive for the era (remember the Pacer? ) but the paint/surfacing problems would certainly hurt sales. Add to that a poor acceleration and I can see why I never heard of it.
