and the funny part is the Bushies are criticizing FEMA...

FEMA held a "press" conference with FEMA personnel asking questions of other FEMA personnel...

FEMA has apologized for holding sham news conference on fire response.

That was such a stupid and ridiculous move. Did they really expect the media not to report what FEMA was doing. It seems like every day there is a new story that sheds light on more incompetency within the government. It really dumfounds me at times.

This is the death knell for FEMA. It was a well run organization under Clinton, who appointed professionals to head it. But Bush swept it into his Department of Homeland Security and appointed his know-nothing incompetent cronies to run it. Ironically, this department has now becomes its own disaster area.

Ok, FEMA Should respond to disasters, flood areas and places where storms have passed.

Umm, Hillary, would you use FEMA to respond to a disaster area?

Homeland Security has already announced the incident may warrant possible disciplinary measures.

One would presume most of the people there were told to be there, so they shouldn't be to blame, but rather those who told them to

                      I can understand them.

Having reporters at such events would include the danger of unwanted questions. So better make yur press conferences without reporters.

One wonders why no one in the white house under Bush had this idea till now

I just saw this! It is the quintessential GOP Government: Fake Reporters at FEMA Press Conference and real reporters aren't allowed to ask questions. Why should the Administration the four day lag FEMA took when the Bushies can just spout off about what a wonderful job they think they're doing?

A major Republican Governor is trying to figure out the truth about slow response times from the Bush Administration and all the Bushies can think of is trying to fake and spin things? It seems somethings never change.

It's not government in general. It is the incompetency of the people who run the GOP who, incidentally, are almost entirely the same people who ran Bush Sr and Reagan's administration. It seems the incompetent people who run the Federal government are the problem.

The really interesting thing is that bloggers seem to have broken this story. The corporate media once again allowed themselves to be spoon fed a lie without questioning it.

What this country needs is to reverse the massive media consolidation so we can get some more competition. The current arrangement just isn't working very well.
