  • Michelle Malkin, Graeme Frost, and SCHIP

After a target of one of Michelle Malkin's hate campaigns committed suicide you'd think Little Lulu would show a little restraint. But no; Malkin and others on the Right have formed a full-scale howling mob to attack the family of 12-year-old Graeme Frost. Righties have been calling the Frosts, harassing them with personal questions. Malkin personally drove by the Frosts'

Unbelievable, the issue aint about the program but about how vicious people can be...

    A brief summary -

Graeme Frost is a 12 year old kid who delivered the response to Bush's comments opposing an expansion of the program. He and his sister are beneficiaries because their family doesn't make much, and she suffered a brain injury requiring special care. So what does Michelle Malkin do? She starts harassing the family, FreeRepublic posted their home address, and not surprisingly they reportedly start getting death threats all in an effort to show the Frost's are wealthy people taking advantage of a gov't program...

Graeme or his parents will be on Olbermann this coming Monday

To be honest, I think using a kid to deliver a political message is garbage and practically child abuse. But harassing people for their opinions is rather worse.

Driving by the house, interviewing a tenant of Mr. Frost's commercial property, and investigating why a family whose kids attend a $20,000/year private school are in need of government provided insurance hardly constitutes harassment. I haven't seen any evidence that Malkin has actually contacted the family, knocked on their doors, etc. If this is harassment, the pretty much every journalist needs a restraining order slapped on them.

If the parents put their family out there and the Dems decide to hide behind a 12 year old, don't be surprised if people start looking into the validity of your story. As the left says, "Question the narrative".....

So where do you stand on posting their phone number/ address on the net?

What Freepers did is completely irrelevant to the topic at hand. It's not even mentioned in Berzerker's link and hasn't appeared on Malkin's website. The fact that several left-leaning blogs posted her address is far more relevant.

Except that Berzerker specifically mentioned it in the opening post, you twit. If you can't bring yourself to condemn the reprehensible actions of the worst side of Republicans (Which I'm sure liberals do perform as well), then your opinion on what counts as harassment is utterly meaningless.

Berz: Where is the harrassment in Malkin's blog?

I agree, there is no harrassment from Malkin. Furthermore, deliver an address on behalf of the Democratic or Republican party, on national TV, and you become a public figure subject to public scrutiny.

If you want to pluck the heart strings, have a politician deliver the address including a letter written by the darling kid (read while the camera pans to where he and his family are seated). The story gets out, and the family still retain a modicum of privacy about it all.

Then the kid gets to be on Oprah and she gives the family a car. Then the Republicans say, "See? They don't need a government program, they just needed Oprah to open her wallet. That's how charity is supposed to work, and why charitable donations and organizations are untaxed."

Read the blog post again. Nowhere does it say Michelle Malkin posted the home address or phone number of the Frost family. Nobody is claiming that Malkin is showing up on the Frost's doorstep with a recorder and a battery of questions. I haven't read a single article that has claimed that Malkin has even talked to the family. Conflating a columnist doing a little bit of investigative work with some wingnut Freepers posting the home phone number and address (something that left wing bloggers have done to Malkin recently) doesn't make them the same entity. And critically examining Berzerker's initial post neither makes me a twit nor is it a tacit approval of the tactics of Freepers (although I have no problem with Malkin looking at the Frost's financial circumstances).

Like Straybow said, the family made themselves public figures and with that comes public scrutiny. Both Dems and Republicans should grow up and not hide behind children and other political props.

That doesn't excuse the behavior of the right. It's like using the "she was asking for it" argument.

I'm against using children in ads and agendas in general. But really this kind of tactic isn't solely used by the democrats. Republicans use it all the time. The issue here is that Republicans then went attacked the parents of this child. That's were is just goes from an action to be frown upon to something truly despicable.

You seem to be thinking I have said Malkin did it... I know it was the Freerepublic idiots, thanks to my incredible powers of reading comprehension. It's all part of one interlinked hate campaign (Not that Malkin can be held responsible for other peoples' actions), though I'll take it your long-winded response to mean, "Yes, it is wrong to post peoples' addresses on the internet"
