It's important to remember that "> 20mpg" isn't what the factory says... it's what you get. This means if you accellerate very fast and perhaps make judicious use of riding the brakes at the same time and blasting the air-conditioner, you could take an un-american car and still be american in your driving of it.

I watch alot of news from different stations, but Fox is entertaining and often quite funny (especially watching Fox Repugs try to squirm out of their idiotic statements), like asking if Bruce Springsteen is "unamerican". You'll be happy to know Berz that your hero Bill doesn't think Bruce hates America. He just thinks that about Sean Penn though.

We had the chance to prevent his invasion of Kuwait, but Bush I and the US ambassador Glasby didn't make it clear to him what we'd do if he invaded. We didn't want to get involved with inter-Arab disputes and did not tell him we'd declare war on his ass if he did invade. Notice Bush's reaction when Saddam did invade Kuwait? Not much until after Maggie Thatcher told him to not go wobbly, then Saddam became Hitler Revisited.

The last 20 years sure would be different had George Bush informed Saddam he was about to really piss us off. No war in Kuwait, no troops in Saudi Arabia, no 9/11 and no 2nd war in Iraq...
