  • Is Bruce Springsteen Un-American?

Fox "News" wants to know, seriously. That was the question they had tonight on one of their broadcasts.

Does anyone else think thats fascistic? Certainly hypocritical, Repugs didn't accuse each other of being Un-American for opposing Clinton's ventures overseas, or his domestic policies. But this consistent theme of accusing opponents of treasonous behavior shows a tendency toward fascism. Dear Leader is not wrong! Right now its just funny but I can see how a nation can come to embrace such a warped and hypocritical ideology.

    at thread title.

I think you're right. Even asking is absurd.

As Jon Stewart said, with everything Bush and his cronies are doing to increase executive power, Hilary will become the most powerful US president ever.

"Born In The USA" is not a pro-american song, it's pro-veteran. Just a for instance. Doesn't make him un-American.

It's like asking if someone is un-Italian.

Can someone explain just what "Un-American" actually means?

I'd say it would be harder to find anyone more American than Bruce Springsteen.

                              Well, maybe John Steinbeck.

When people say they like Americans, they mean that kind of American, not the Jerry Falwell Republican Party Americans.

Hell, I have a lot of Springsteen's music, and Steinbeck is one of my favourite novelists.
