  • Finding the origins of the Hindu Civilization

I have a paper to do in an Asian Religions class. Since I found an interesting topic for a history paper here, I thought it would be a good idea to tap this well of knowledge again and see if I can strike gold again here by finding an interesting topic for this class as well.

How about a paper on the inherent superiority of Hinduism with emphasis on how much Islam sucks?

Aryans from the steppes of central asia descend upon the Ganges valley bringing friendly Gods like Indra with them... intermingle with natives, write Vedas, Upanishads, and generally invent more Gods than is generally helpful for a religion. Ironically, the other half of the Aryan civilization stayed in central asia and invented monotheism (well, manicheanism actually). So while one half proliferated Gods, the other half eliminated them down to our good friends Ahura Mazda and Ahriman.

I got all that from that Karen Armstrong book, "The Great Transformation"... haven't finished it yet. Someone please correct me and elaborate, I'd be interested to know the story too.

          Hindu Civilization
I think you are confused here, there is no hindu civilization. Do you mean the origins of hindu religion or indian civilization?
