Mattel has taken full responsibility, claiming that the only thing wrong was design defects. Nope, nothing that their subcontractors did was wrong at all; nope, not in the least; nothing to fix there, nope.

No but they did know that quality control is a big issue in China, and still they went in to collect the $$$'s
