  • Are you afraid of cancer?

Well, this document is pretty ‘’entertaining’’ if I can put it that way.

Seems that approx 1 out of 2 people in the world will get cancer, and one out of 4 will die of cancer. Also, taking into consideration that 44% of new cancer cases and 60% of deaths due to cancer occur among those who are at least 70 years old somewhat gives people hope for a good long life….until you read further and see : 30% of new cancer cases and 18% of cancer deaths will occur in young and middle-aged adults in their most productive stage of life…
I also didn’t know that women are more likely to get and die from cancer, and only since recent years.

Cancer, of what I seen and heard of, is one of the most painful and disgusting ways to leave this place.

So after reading this, how do you guys feel?

If you aren't, you're crazy. The docs aren't kidding about doing things like testicular self-examinations as young men -- a friend of mine was lucky enough to catch his early.

Of course, especially considering I used to smoke (yes, yes, I know, stupid).

I only get an error when opening the document.

But no, I don't fear cancer. It's a fair chance I'll get it I guess, we have heritable cancer in the family, but no. We will all die one day, and I don't fear what comes after death.

Hey Asher, did you read the document?

It shows that people from Quebec and the atlantic provinces are more likely to get cancer than people from BC and Alberta.

Do you have something to do with this?

I'm not particularly afraid of cancer. It's only such a high cause of death 'cause we've solved most of the other ones.

I won't get cancer. That's not part of the story I'm telling.

I examine my testicles often enough, but don't know what to look for.

Quebec has an absurdly high smoking rate, last I checked.

                      Link or Data?

I'd be interested in seeing this. I searched but couldn't find anything.

No idea, maybe I'll google it later. It's mostly anecdotal evidence and the fact that it's more euro-centric.

I am rather pale, and live in the South, so I go through some effort to protect myeself from the sun. Besides skin cancer, I don't worry to much.
