  • Moving is expensive

It's true. Well with my salary it is.

I don't have to move lots of stuff AND I got a special deal from Avis, but the car still costs ~120euros per day, fortunately includes insurance and km's so no other costs. So 2 days, that'll be 240 euros plus I need to rent those moving boxes, gasoline, from two to three full tanks.... and then I need to take another trip on the weekend. So everything again times two.

So it'll be, with every expense, a little less than 1000 euros. Ouch. That could be relatively cheap in general, but man, I don't even have 1000 euros right now . And I need to buy a new bed as well and a washing machine, since my old one is broken. I guess I'll have to go to laundry places for a while though. PLUS I get my next salary at the end of the next month so that's.... 5 weeks. And I need some books before that, plus I need to open a new internet connection. Wow.

    Visa will like me.

Ohh but it gets more expensive, crap! Didn't even remember... on the last trip during this weekend, I'll get some friends to help me as well, and they're coming so I'll pay for their boozing as well for the weekend. That'll be cheap, I'll only buy the .... "base booze", that means few bottles, I won't be paying for their stuff in the bars.. so that, plus most likely I'll offer them food at least once, some nice stuff, because they'll use the whole weekend to help me move to another side of this country so... it's only fair that we'll have good time.

That plus I have to pay for their return tickets, train will cost me about 150 euros for them all to return. Unggggh... but thse are costs I can't avoid and no matter the situation that's what I'll do so... I'm goign to take a hit and it'll take me few months to recover.

But still, very nice Very very nice Also, I'll get to see my new apartment tomorrow. It's been for 3 weeks but tomorrow I get to see it.... it's bigger than my current one, it's little over 50 m^2. So it has two rooms! I can have a bedroom AND a living room. Wow. Now that's awesome-o.

But it's quite obvious who me employer is, since I'm not getting any moving help. DAmn it!

      I am moving also...

Is a pain in the ass. I really should throw a lot of my junk away.. but I keep thinking I might need to use it at some point.

Right And then you never use it really. Junk seems to be so valuable at times like these.

At least I can now listen to funkytown, even though it sucks.

I have all my class notes ever.. that is what I am trying to work up the strength to throw away.

It isn't like they are that good of notes.

Me too. It's just a waste of space too... and I keep thinking that I might need them? Let's be honest, I don't need them. But seems difficult to just throw away. And I make horrible notes.

I can only imagine what it costs to move if you have a house and that's full of stuff, like normal middle class moving. And then you're likely to move even further etc.. oh man that's expensive. I get this thing relatively cheap, I can carry myself and I can do it fast and just a big moving car is enough for all my stuff and I can drive it myself etc.... But in the future, it seems like moving will only get more expensive, and I'm bound to do a lot of moving within the next 5 years.

I just put about a box full of notes into a pile to throw away. I have about two more boxes to work up the strength to do so with.

Think about the people with kids moving. The only big items I have is my bed really (desk and piano would be hard to move in my car, but possible).

My dad was in the army and we moved often. First time it took 27 sizeable crates to move all the stuff. Last time it was down to three.

I had a few thousand dollars saved up for my move, and I'm very glad I did. Life is expensive.
