Your game would work well in the "Fantasy" game genre, because there just are not more than 5 women engineers. Good back story though.

aneeshm, you are refreshing. I got a good laugh.

A couple of pointers. First, you said that the females looked like they wanted you to continue talking with them but you got nervious. Why? That means that you could say just about anything as long as you kept talking.

Second, why didn't you talk about your interest in robotics and how you enjoy it so much. Say how great the event was and all that.

If you are cool-headed and analytical and if you can control your body language, you'll be breaking women's hearts in no time.

I'm curious how girls and women in India differ from those in Europe/US. Tell us some more about that. How is the whole dating thing set up given the custom of arranged marriages? What are the rules governing male-female socializing?

You're overthinking the whole thing. Unfortunately for engineers everywhere (and GOFAI enthusiasts in particular) there is no set of rules that you can establish and then follow to excel in social situations.

Instead, what you need to do is, stage 1, make friends with some hot women. And I mean friends. No romance.

That way you can start talking to them and get some experience that will help you in stage 2. You need to get over this whole tactical engagement thing you've got going on and learn to relate to women as people, not mission objectives.

Once you've got that down, you are then ready to move to stage 2 and use your new found skills at conversing with the females of the species to get yourself some sweet action.

But that won't happen without stage 1.
What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

What if your real self is a sad phony? Then what are you to do?

Your real self can't be phony

Anyway, you don't have to be that great to get girls.

Men, as a group, are getting more women that any other group anywhere.

This was the FIRST TIME IN MY ENTIRE LIFE that I had carried out an approach like this. I may be good, but I'm not superhuman.

Because that would have been lame. The other bit I had prepared didn't lower my social value, and gave me a time-constraint, so I wouldn't look like a guy who had nothing to do.

In general, it's more conservative. A large number of people (mostly old ones) frown upon dating. And it's nearly impossible to get any action - relationships are much less physical. One friend of mine been in a committed, long-term relationship for over one year, and he still hasn't got ANY action.

However, it is my hope that a mechanism of control will allow me to bypass this lack of physicality when I want to.

All our social behaviour is learned.

And "being myself" got me exactly zero (probably negative) results, without exception, for my entire life. That is not something I wish to continue.
