The hyporcisy of westerners wrt Israel is stunning. They will jump all over Israel for any percieved excess but willfully ignore the behaviour of Israels neighbours that goes beyond the pale.

I for one, am ok, that no one is expressing outrage at the Leb Army taking on the terrorists. Better some (debatable) inconsistency than outright stupidity.

                Not really. Some do.

Of course, there are those who perceive that their country is deeply involved in supporting Israel and thus are more concerned about Israeli behavior than they otherwise would be. Is it hypocritical to care more when Israel is using weapons my country gave them (or sold them, paid for with aid money given by us, or money freed up by said aid money)?

I for one supported Israel's right to respond to Hezbollah's attack. Israel's basic point was that the Lebanese goverment could not or would not control Hez, and thus they had to use the IDF. I wasn't in love with the idea, but I generally agreed.

It didn't go all that well, but it DID seem to finally force the Lebanese government & army to assert more control over Lebenon. Whether or not they can really control Hez, though, is unclear to me (though I've not been following it closely).

ZOG does, or does not. It knows no "try."

While technically Israel has a ZOG, I don't think anyone refers to it as such.

I love the bit where Syria claims the Israeli planes dropped their fuel tanks to add speed as they "fled."

Heh. They flew deep into Syrian territory and bombed a target and returned home, with impunity. I'm sure they were just terrified of the fearsome anti-aircraft fire.

I'd like to know what the target was. And the silence surrounding this whole thing certainly is interesting. I mean... it's a pretty clear violation of Syrian sovereignty. That nobody but Syria seems to care is interesting to me.

                              IMHO:
Syria is hiding the fact that it's trying to get nulear weapons.
Israel is hiding the fact that its most dangerous neighbor was on the verge of getting nulear weapons.
The U.S. is hiding the fact that it has again been hornswaggled by a North Korean nuclear double cross.

                              shhhhhhhhhhh!
