I actually agree with him that Bush should have used his veto pen more to reign in the out of control spending Congress was engaging in. I never saw any real reason for him not to.
On the other hand, I'm not sure I'd buy his claim about it being a war for oil. Why would he even be involved in such discussions?
I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara
For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

The war for oil thing is such a footnote. The biggest thing was him slamming the fiscal policies of almost the entire GOP: The Reagan White House, the Bush I White House, the Bush II White House, and the Hastert GOP-led congress. The one left standing is the Gingrich GOP-led congress.
Can't find much to disagree with Greenspan regarding the GOP. The GOP has lost its way. The only one carrying the true GOP banner right now is Guiliani. As far as I can tell, the rest (ex-Gingrich, who has little sway in the party) are really socialists at heart -- always looking for a handout from Uncle Sugar.
On the other hand, his kudos to Clinton are misplaced for the last couple of years of his presidency. Clinton should have been cutting taxes during that period.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

By a skank that left that dress hanging in her closet for months, years. Good gawd!

It's his memoir. He can opine about anything he likes in his memoir.

Of course he can "opine" until he's blue in the face. However, the article above and another linked in it speak of a "declaration" and make it sound like he's speaking from a position of authority based on classified information to which he'd have access.
In reality, the beancounter-in-chief wouldn't be any more in the know about national security related decisions than the Secretary of Education or Postmaster General. Should their opinions on Iraq be news as well?
