Those guys are just upset cause Jews are the new WASPS (well SOME Jews, at any rate - and yeah, some of the ones I have in mind are liberal rich snobs, but they dont act like idiots so much, as they are trying to be the way WASPs used to be in the good old days-oh and a few Irish and Italians may fit this as well)

And Asians are the new Jews. East Asians according to most, but I know some folks who insist that Indians actually are closer.

Blacks of course are the new Irish, and Salvadoran immigrants are the new blacks.

They are almost all universally stupid, and a mere throwback to the 50s. Traditional class snobbery is on the decline as the new social elites tend to come from the meritocracy, and are slightly less offensive.

These people are trying to play a game that the rest of society is no longer playing.

Lonestar, yeah, talk about a big deception of the self. I don't think you have to serve in order to support something or have a say, however, these types above are more likely to belong into the group that has the bad kind of nationalism that isn't yet violent or that dangerous, but still quite bad.

It functions like this: you believe in kicking ass because you think it's like a game. This is mostly due to the lack of touch to the reality. This kind of stuff happens a lot to people who were fortunate enough to get many things in their life at an early stage, such as rich kids. Because they have no idea what others have to do to get the same things, they usually think the other people are simply just stupid, "well why don't they just go ahead and buy it if they want it so bad?", or "Well I got a job from my daddy's company, I don't see how they can't apply for a job like mine". You get the picture? Kind of like the Paris Hilton's of the world, no real understanding of the true struggle you have to do in order to get the same things.

So this kind of mindset usually has less of an appreciation for human effort, because they don't understand how much effort and even luck it takes sometimes. Now, it is basically the feeling of superiority as a person. Not that you have superior skills, because those can be measured and are fair things to measure and declare, however often it takes the ugly form of thinking you are superior as a person.

In that sense, things become like a game as far as what other people do goes. War? It's a game. We like kicking ass so we like war, because there are no consequences to us and we get to root and feel good about ourselves. War is a really ancient feel good thing to do for people who don't have to fight it.

So this isn't the people who support war because they think it's the thing to be done, these are the people who support any kind of war because they get a kick out of it. It is purely entertainment. The lack of understanding of the magnitude of human suffering in any war is beyond their reach. That is because it's all a game.

So I think that it's a fair question to ask, if you like it so much, why don't you join it? We all know the answer and it's not the old football injury. SO these people can't be counted for when it's time to rumble. They're the ones with excuses. But there is justice in the world. For example, when some guy like this comes to talk trash to you, you can kick their ass. They can be all they want and think what they want, but you can always say, "doesn't matter, because I can kick your ass". So, reality sets and they realize you're right, and somehow they don't think it's a game anymore.

Conclusion: they just need some experiences in life, such as getting their ass kicked. It's a good lesson for people who aren't smart enough to realize it's not a good thing to learn because you didn't get it.
