  • How much does de-salinated water cost?

There's a court case going on right now which might lead to the cutting of water imports into L.A. by 50% from northern California. (Poor little smelt fish are getting sucked into pumps and killed.) Depending on how the case is decided, it could resulting in cutting off water to agriculture and water rationing to residents.

I know there's been recent strides in bringing down the cost of desalination plants -- especially by Israel. How does the cost of water produced by one of these plants compare to the normal cost of water?

Importing desalinated water from Israel seems like it might be pricey.

Yelburton: My goodness, what happened to your nose?
Jake Gittes: I cut myself shaving.
Yelburton: You ought to be more careful. That must really smart.
Jake Gittes: Only when I breathe.

I think that if you Cali people start declorinizise all those swimming pools, you'll have wast amounts of water reserves

            Couldn't I please have a shower instead?

Estimated date for arrival: Tuesday, April 29 in Eugene.
I don't yet have an arrival time (probably late), a flight number or an airline. I'll let you know.

(I'll probably leave on Sat. May 3.)

              Please do take a shower.

Nice thing about this Phil trip is that they have reasonably well priced internet to the houses in Jagna now.

The Malibu Bar is off the air.
The Mai Thai Bar cam seems to be frozen.

So to answer you question: No.

FYI, you can build your own backyard de-salinization apparatus for water for less than ten bucks, so if the price goes too high....fvck 'em....

But he'll have to use gas to transport water to his backyard from the ocean(unless he has beachfront property).
