The 'Geek Squad' is a joke.
I took my computer in there once to get a new video card installed and a memory upgrade. The guy plug in his mouse and monitor and power up the computer. A warning came up, indicating that Explorer couldn't access the internet (which I always got since having my firewall block it, just never bothered to change the start-up) the mouse didn't work. The guy told me I obviously had a virus and that it would cost $75 just to run the diagnostics. I told him that I didn't have a virus, that I had done a bad job of disabling IE. He continued to explain that if it wasn't a virus then why was his mouse not working. I kind explained to him that I don't use a serial mouse and don't have the driver, that I use a PS2 mouse.
I took the computer away from him, bought the video card and memor myself, and installed them. Haven't had a problem, and that virus mysteriously disappered.
The Geek Squad has to suck. If they were able to fix anything how would I get new stuff?
