I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

Portugal is a country. Portugal and England have maintained an unbroken alliance since 1373.

However the statement was made by the European Union. It was delivered by the Portuguese because they currently hold the Presidency of the Union.

The Union is no more than a neighbour. To ask a neighbour to re-consider their conduct does not seem too terrible a thing to do.

But I gather from this thread that neighbourliness may not be a quality much practiced in Texas. Or parts of it, perhaps.

Erm.....Sloww? Aren't you taking this a bit far?

The EU have the position that there should be no capital punishment. Texas has capital punishment, and are using it more than most states. The EU makes it's position know - that is how politics are done.

And that is the end of the story

So go ahead and execute to your hearts content. I guess we wont know 'till judgement day if you are right or wrong in this

The Jacaranda trees are in blossom and there is a hot new Fado singer in town.

Just the time to visit Lisboa, Sloww.

They make good shoes, have good barbers, an excellent (and undiscovered) cuisine and are hospitable folk. There are places you can get a three course meal for 5 Euros.

Perhaps you could persuade them to wear large hats, call themselves by their initials and - if you absolutely insist - to kill people.

Lisbon blows, the only bright spots are a decent joint NATO base and the wine.

                  Worst. Port. Visit. Ever.

I think Joao from CivIV:BtS already does the two of these things. I still've got to hear him call himself Jay-Fo.

I had my three quarters Portuguese girl friend to show me the town, Patroklus, so I didn't emerge with quite your jaundiced view.

It is not a city which grabs you immediately but I found myself warming to it steadily over the few days I spent there.

There is certainly a breed of englishman who can fall heavily for Portugal. Not sure about Yanks.

I didn't take to the Algarve.
