Lately, I have become addicted to buying CD box sets. I'm not sure why, but they seem to be really cheap these days. Maybe the record companies have been worried enough into giving consumers a good deal.
Today's haul was:
In the last few months I have bought the complete Janis Joplin, the 22CD set of Stravinsky conducting his own music (which was less than 20 bucks), the Led Zeppelin Box Set, the Nirvana Box Set, the Police Greatest Hits Box Set and a 4CD set of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. And to top it off, the best of them all: the Box Set of Live at San Quentin by Johnny Cash, which includes the whole concert (with Carl Perkins, the Statler Brothers and the Carter family tracks) and a DVD.
Anyone else noticed that these things have become cheaper lately, or have a box set they want to recommend? I'm thinking of getting the Grateful Dead set, which is quite expensive, but has an incredible amount of music on it. Gotta fill that 80GB iPod somehow..
