McD's coffee was too hot. OTOH an idiot who puts a paper cup of fresh coffee between her legs doesnt deserve compensation when she burns herself. We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

The only explanation I can imagine is the jury reasoned that, if she hadn't dumped to coffee in her lap, she'd have sipped it into her mouth. This wouldn't mean that she wouldn't have been injured -- all it would have done was to change the injured body part.

They did... the jury judged the woman only 20% at fault because of McD's negligence in hot coffee issues.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Good god Zkribbler, someone already posted the link to the wikipedia page, you have no excuse to keep repeating such wrong information about that case. 1) The car was stationary 2) The jury DID reduce the amount (By 20%) end of. Where the christ did you get the speedbump hallucination from?!
But anyway, the man in this story is an idiot, plain and simple and deserves 100% of the blame (While some employee deserves a warning). I hate onions/ mayonaise in my food and there's no way I'll order a burger from a fast food joint without checking myself to see if they've botched up my "special order" (As Snotty will attest to). If it could kill me then I wouldn't order it in the first place- fast food places have a failure rate of about 1/4 in my experience.
But hey if this lawsuit stops them screwing it up, that's a few million bucks I think.

The Wikipedia article is detailed enough to be quite convincing, and I should know better not to trust newspapers.

And fraud!! Luring you in with promises of genuine imitation proceeded cheese food, and then leaving you with nothing! Oh, this is a zillion dollar case if I've even seen one!
