I could be making that up, but I remember something like that happened.

Its mostly true. 3 planes went ahead of the Enola Gay to decide which of 3 cities had the worst weather that day and worse weather would give better cover incase the Japs decided to open fire. Hiroshima got nuked all because of the weather.

but we probably aren't the most nuked area. I'm sure the russians did more tests somewhere.
