    The 45-year old (tattoo) Virgin...

    Last month, my wife decided to get a tattoo on her ankle. Looks like a bracelet.

    That got me to thinking... 'Do I want to do the same????' I had never really considered getting one in the past, but all of a sudden, the idea seems to have some attraction to me. (Mainly because I will be designing it myself.) I already have some designs whipped up, and I'm planning on having it run down my upper right arm.

    So I made an appointment for after work this Friday to have it done. I still have two days to mull it over/chicken out. And no...I am not drunk either. I'm going in this with a clear mind.

    designs posted below - I have to still decide on the final one. I wanted something more graphic than representational too.

    So how many apolytoneers have one?

    Any regrets...

    When I was younger I remember my father going for skin grafts to remove tattoos from his arms. I can safely say I will never get a tatoo.

    Of course they have better removal methods now, but keep in mind what looks/feels good now may not seem so smart twenty years from now.

          A friend of mine has "Beer" tattooed on his belly. He's really skinny, but at least he has goals in life.

            Only sailors and possibly Church of England bishops should have tattoos.

            On all others, they look truly horrible.

              There's a new type of ink that you can use that is easier to have removed when you sober up.
              It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

                I can't see teh attached image, but I sure hope it isn't one of those "tribal" tattoos or one with fake Chinese characters in it.

                  A freind of mine showed her Chinese characters to a Navy buddy of mine who can read them, and he told her out of the three only one said what she thought, and another didn't mean anything at all.

                        I can definitely say that I will never be a person who says, 'now that I have one, I need to get a few more.' Of course I also never thought I'd consider getting one in the first place either.

                        And the way I figure, it'll be hideable if I wear a normal short-sleeved shirt too, so most of the time, it won't be visible. I'm at the age where I do not go around showing off my physique anymore. Those days are long gone.

                        I could have been really brave and let apolytoneers pick out a tattoo for me. But that ain't gonna happen.

                            I met a girl once who had a Bettie Page tattoo on her left arm. I almost drooled on her boobs...
