  • Christian Rock Band

    @Mobius

    If you were 10% serious( I don't think you were, but whatever...)

    Extol ( Burial, Undeceived and Synergy albums)
    Tourniquet

    and

    ZAO (Mainly their: Where fire and blood brind rest and peace; and Liberate Te Ex Inferis albums)

    Are amazing metal/prog/hardcore bands;

    I would also include:

    aletheian.

    In any other way; Christian rock seems to suck pretty hard.

          First: Great music, I love metal; they were actually playing some of the best stuff around. Melodic/technical and progressive metal.

          Second: the lyrics; not the typical gay christian message, more about fighting for what you believe, against consummerism/nihilism, solidarity without losing individuality, about hyprocrisy, and also, the grace of God, spiritual freedom,etc..

            I haven't heard of them before, but I'll check them out as long as they don't ram the 'God' message. I like a good bit of Metal.

              I must admit I've only heard Stryper (and a bit of Asher so I knew what I was talking about), and their best stuff was when they essentially turned their backs on playing the Christian message...

                    Depends on what you mean by "rock." If you really mean "heavy metal" then you will have very slim pickings and I can't help you much since I don't listen to it.

                    In the category I would consider "rock" you should try Third Day.

                    I could think of some others but it doesn't matter much since you won't like the message no matter how good the music may be.

                        It doesn't classify as metal, but probably does as rock. But I do like SuperChick.

                        I can try out some of the ones suggested.
