I switched to Mr. Adams, not only to be less in your face Jewish (like THAT worked), but because I thought he looked a tad more dignified, while still being both reflective and argumentative.
Yes, I also think GePap's avatar fits him well. I like the idea of FN arguing with either DBG, or JA."A person cannot approach the divine by reaching beyond the human. To become human, is what this individual person, has been created for.†Martin Buber

i never judge a poster by their avatar. i have humiliated posters on other boards with bad-ass avatars, and have gotton "destroyed" by posters with goofy ones. This also goes for screen names.
an avatar should reflect something about you, your tastes, or something significant in your life. just my opinion.

Anyway, it was just intended as a parallel to the avatars. In as much as signatures often seem to also have a rather narcissistic appearance to them - and that they can also be turned off, thank heavens.
The use of smilies, short catch phrases or personal initials to end a post is different, I think. Though I've never really understood the deeper rationale for it, I've always considered it akin to signing off with "roger" or "out" on a ham radio. Also it's a bit similar to some posters' consistent use of message icons. EvC's angry face and AH's sunglassed ditto spring to mind. A somewhat curious, but harmless habit, I would think.

My current sig line is justified.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.
