I thought the tragedy thread needed balancing.

    Daily victory?

    It's Friday today

Yeah. A victory. Have to get up in... about 5 hours, can't sleep, I'm in a mood where I CAN'T sleep for about an hour. I don't like this. I live SoCal tz even when I don't live there.

I made the mistake of taking a one-hour nap a few hours ago. Can't sleep now and I am not rested either so I have no energy for anything useful. And I also have to get up in 5 hours.

But it's Friday. And maybe I'll go see Transformers. That's a victory and a possible victory.

          Yeah. Earth isn't flat.
Why doing it the easy way if it is possible to do it complicated?

I went for a run this morning. I woke up early, like... 5am? And I told myself "hey you lazy bastard either go back to sleep or get out of bed and go for a run at 6:30am"

6:30am comes around and I hadn't gone back to sleep so I get up and go for a run.

Ya'know I live in the southern hemisphere and far south. Sunrise isn't until like 8am. So I was running by moon and starlight, and it was a frost too of course (I didn't dare do shorts and t-shirt ). It would actually suck running later in the morning because it'd be too damn smoky with everyone lighting their fire in the morning :P.

I hadn't gone running in like... 2 years? So this is some kind of victory heh.

Blake - I'm guessing your up Auckland way - no way you'd be running down here in Chch this morning......

                Well done though!

All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

Hahah! I'm further south than Chch!

FWIW I don't bother with home heating in the winter so my cold tolerance is significant, anything about 5c pretty much feels warm to me.

I always listen to "Den pobedy" (a Russian song about victory in WW2) on Friday. The song title translates as "Victory day" and Friday is the day of victory over the workdays.

Vet, yeah, 1 hour nap is the worst IMO. 2 hours is kind of bad, but you can do it. YOu just battle it out when you wake up. It'll suck but it's doable, however, 1 hour sleep is the worst. I have my own rule, that if I can only sleep 1 hour, I wont' sleep at all. They say it's better to at least take a nap, but I disagree, 1 hour nap is just enough to get you pissed off, messed up in the head and as tired (if not more tired) afterwards. But the lure of the 1 hour nap is great sometimes, you know how it is

Anyway, this is normal for me. I'm often deprived from rest and sleep, but not because of others. I just... I don't know what it is, I can't sleep well. Maybe it's the fact that I haven't worked out in a while, so I'm not using all my energy, I don't know, but I do not feel tired, except in the morning and right now.
