Yesterday on "Hardball" with Chris Matthews Ann Coulter was the guest and the wife of Democrat Pres candidate John Edwards called in to ask Ann to stop making personal attacks on her hubby. Ann then accused Elizabeth of telling her to stop talking, to stop writing columns, etc. Apparently Ann cant speak or write without making personal attacks (Ann doesn't impress me as honest).
On the other hand liberals have accused Ann of smearing gays by referring to John Edwards as a "******". That isn't what she said though (taking words out of context appears quite common in politics), she was referring to some actor who went into "rehab" after calling a co-star a ******. Bill Maher said something to the effect that he wished Cheney was killed in a terrorist attack and Ann said Edwards should die in a terrorist attack - the point being how the media gets outraged over her nastiness but not liberals.
Anyway, I'd have to give the edge to Elizabeth Edwards, Ann just comes off as a nasty person and her past comments about a son of the Edwards dying a while back in the face of the boy's mother on the phone asking her to stop using their dead son to make political points with her fans did not look good.
Tune in tomorrow: Christopher Hitchens v Al Sharpton
Is God Great?
