Well, gay pride marches, at least, show those who may be scared of coming out that there are others (a LOT of others) just like them and they will be accepted into a community if they are frightened of being shunned by another.

That and it shows the intolerant that there are a bunch of gay people out there (unlike other minorities like women and blacks/hispanics/etc, you can't tell just by looking ) and you can't just ignore them.

Considering that hispanics aren't a race, you can't tell just by looking if someone is hispanic or not. Besides, they can't be classified as a minority anyway since they're not a race.

On Topic: it's not as if the gay community didn't pick Jerusalem only to provoce those religions. Why not march just in the cities where there are no problems? Why the "In your face" attitude all the time? I don't get that.

Because in a democratic country they can hold a march where ever the heck they want, without anyone stopping them.

Just like the orthodox can have their own orthodox march, where ever they want.

I doubt there would be gay people protesting over the right of the orthodox to march...

I doubt if that last line is correct, but in general you're right of course.
But like I said in an earlier post, this kind of provocing is not going to change anything, it'll only make it worse.
If they want the orthodox to change mind, or at least be tolerant, then I think that they should use a different approach, and not the "In your face" approach. Not because they're not allowed to, in my opinion, but because it won't serve their needs.
