I can only guess I haven't needed to use the word on this site...
I tend to find spelling errors in a native language (excepting obvious typos) point to people who don't tend to be that smart in the first place, especially in this day and age of predictive word correction functionality on your PC.
Basically if you can't spell a word correctly - you're too thick to be using it in the first place and probably don't even know what it means...
