  • I'm sick of the dollar losing value!

Almost every time I look at the Phil peso I've lost money for the trip. It's now just above 46! Last trip the high was 56.

What really pissed me off is when the government shipped 13 BBBillion dollars to Iraq in neat little packs of hundreds and passed it out. Now they can only account for 3 billion of it. That's really bad, and I'm pissed.

    Blah!

A solid U.S. economy is essential for a solid world economy. If we go down, the rest of the industrialed world goes with us.

My worries over the U.S. dollar don't arise so much from government waste, as with our skyrocketing trade imbalance and our ballooning national debt. We can't keep trying to run this economy on fumes.

                45.1!

Last week it was 46. We've worked all week and lost more on our savings in that time than we've earned. That's no fun at all.

                Cheer me up damnit!

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

The culprit on all of this is people like you, I'm afraid. You are not buying American.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Largely accurate although if the US economy putters and scrapes without collapsing-- the rest of the world can do reasonably well. JUst please avoid spectauclar collapse!!

YUP-- To look at Canada and the US-- Canada runs multi-billion dollar surpluses year over year while the US is running massive debt-- Is it any surprise the US dollar continues to fall in value

Wow-- The value of the Canmadian dollar is at 95.8 cents US. I can remember when it was worth 62 cents. US consumers may be in for a real crunch as they start seeing prices tend upwards on all imported goods

Given the relative collapse of the US dollar, it would be interesting to see a graph of the price of oil denominated in say, euros. new high prices today or next month in USD may not really even approach the peaks in most other currencies

                            I am NOT cheering up!

DanS, that is a concern only because almost nobody is buying American. I did that for years now it's someone elses turn. We will be an agrarian economy if this keeps up....

Flubber, I too hope we can putter along. However I don't think we can afford to be the world's policeman any more. I do have hopes that we can outsource that to China tho.

BlackCat, that took too long to load, what was it?
