Marriage is a social construct that is what society says it is, and Western society is more and more supporting gay marriage.

Tell that to the no less than 80+% of Americans who oppose gay marriage. I'm well aware also that the US does not make up the entire Western world, just the part that matters. The only places in the US that will ever legalize gay marriage are the ultra liberal states, and I suspect it will be done without the consent of the population. If the Florida legislature ever tried to push a bill supporting gay marriage through, there would be a revolution.
