Can you not see that 'two ducks in front one duck' says nothing at all about whether or not there are any others behind it? All those words tell us, literally, is that there are two in front of it. Nothing more than that. It is not a case of saying 2 +1 = 5, it is saying 2 (in front) + 1 (this duck) + n (a possible unspecified number behind it, given that the questioner has not told us whether there are any or not) = 3+n ducks, where 'n' could be any number you care to pick.
