  • SciFians, what's the poly wisdom on....

.....those two Riddick movies, Pitch Black and Chronicles of R. ?

Are they any good? I'm not exactly a fan of that vin diesel (sp?) guy, but I'm always looking out for scifi movies.

So are the movies worth watching, or should I not waste my valuable time with them?

      I say CoR.
Diesel is about the only thing worth watching in it.

I liked Pitch black, dunno why really. I saw it without having heard anything about it first. No hype.

              CoR - meh. Silly.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. They both are grade B sf films at best.
                    They have some entertainment value.

I personally liked the first one better, but many claim that the second one is better.

I wouldn't go out of my way to watch either film.

I much prefered the first but that may be down to the fact (like Arrian) I had never heard of the film when I saw it on the TV listings so it was a very nice surprise.

Pitch black was better than CoR but I'd say they're both worth a look. I guess I'm not as jaded (as a movie watcher) as some here.

Yep, every film doesn't have to be 'killer', sometimes you just want to pass a couple of hours....
